Wine & Virtual Winemaker

Wine

I like wine values… I like to pack the store with little surprises for people who are curious about wine. I’m not the geekiest wine guy in the world (I just employ him). I like it when a customer gets grimy with subsoil types, moon conditions, and whether or not the winemaker cleaned his fingernails before stirring the lees. At least I know they’re enjoying themselves. I think wine should be fun and stimulating – to your mouth, brain, nose, ears, and eyes. No, I don’t really like touching it, but I’m not going to stop you…

I see wine as both the bottle you need to pick up on the way home from work and the centerpiece to all that is civilized in the entire history of uncivilized man – don’t be alarmed, I was a Classics major in college.

Wine should encourage you to be curious, it should compliment food (often), foster conversation, and, not least of all, get you intoxicated! These are the finer points to your own civilized well being., and I’m here to help you mind them.

When you come to my shop, I want to you buy the wine that feeds your…

Virtual Winemaker

The Virtual Winemaker events are geared toward really stoking the fires of curious wine souls. It’s not easy to convince fancy pants winemakers to join us at our little Suburbian Wine Shop (not that we don’t nab a stray winemaker now and again), so why not bring the tasting experience to them!

We invite winemakers to join us for a tasting at our shop while at the comfort of their own winery – technology really is fun that way. With a pair of webcams and some high speed fiber action – we video conference from coast to coast (or continent to continent in some cases) to casually speak with the people who make our favorite wines. It’s really the best way for our customers to get an unique and intimate understanding of where there wine come from? Do you know where your wine comes from?  Virtual Winemaker and actual vino… sounds good to me.

This is what I do… I think of ways to make your wine experience more interesting.
